Common questions Gladstone patients ask us before their first appointment — about referrals, funding schemes, and what to expect.
Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?
For most private physiotherapy appointments, no referral is needed — you can book directly with us. A referral is required for DVA-funded care and for Chronic Disease Management (CDM) appointments, which need a GP referral and care plan.
What does NDIS physiotherapy cover?
We see both plan-managed and self-managed NDIS participants, supporting independence through movement-based physiotherapy. See our NDIS Physiotherapy page for more detail on what’s involved.
How does Chronic Disease Management (CDM) physiotherapy work?
CDM (also known as EPC) is Medicare-subsidised physiotherapy for eligible patients with a chronic condition. You’ll need a referral and care plan from your GP, and Medicare sets session limits, with some gap-free consult days available.
Do you treat WorkCover claims?
Yes — we provide WorkCover Queensland rehabilitation for work-related injuries, helping get you safely back to work.
What is DVA physiotherapy and who is eligible?
We treat DVA Gold and White Card holders with a valid referral, at no out-of-pocket cost to eligible veterans.
What is Shockwave Therapy used for?
Shockwave therapy is used for stubborn injuries that haven’t responded to regular treatment, including Achilles tendon issues, tendon insertions, trigger points, joint inflammation, and plantar fasciitis.
What is Ultrasound Therapy used for?
Ultrasound therapy uses gentle heat and vibration to speed up healing in strained muscles, sprained ligaments, and tendonitis, and can help soften scar tissue.
Can I claim on the spot with my private health fund?
Yes — we have on-site HICAPS, so eligible private health fund claims can be processed instantly at the time of your appointment.
What are your opening hours, and how do I book?
We’re open Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm, at Shop 11, Palms Shopping Fair, 172 Goondoon Street, Gladstone. You can book online anytime or call us on 07 4962 1255.
