Nordic Physio is an independent physiotherapy clinic in Gladstone Central, led by Eric Wahlander. We opened in 2025 and are now at Shop 11 in the Palms Shopping Fair. Our philosophy is simple: movement is medicine.
How we work
Every appointment is one-on-one with your physio for the full session. We start with a proper assessment: what happened, what makes it better or worse, and what you need to get back to. Then we build a plan you understand and can follow between visits. Treatment is usually centred on exercise, with hands-on treatment, dry needling, shockwave or ultrasound where they suit the problem.
Built around Gladstone
We open at 7am Monday to Friday so treatment can fit around shift work. We see NDIS, DVA, WorkCover Queensland and Medicare CDM clients, and we bulk bill every CDM appointment. Home visits are available across the Gladstone region for people who can’t easily get to the clinic.
Who you’ll see
Eric is a Swedish-trained physiotherapist with 13 years of clinical experience, registered with Ahpra since 2019. Stacy Phipps manages the practice and is usually the first person you’ll speak to. Meet the team.
Your first appointment
Your first visit starts with a conversation: what happened, how it affects your day, and what you want to get back to. We then assess how you move and explain what we find in plain language. Before you leave you will have a plan, usually including exercises to do at home, and a clear idea of what the next few sessions will involve.
What to bring
- Any referral you have: a GP Care Plan referral for Medicare CDM, a DVA referral, your WorkCover claim number and work capacity certificate, or your NDIS plan details
- Scans, reports or surgical instructions, if you have them
- Comfortable clothing that lets us see and move the area being assessed
Paying for your appointment
Initial consultation $130, subsequent consultation $120. HICAPS is on site so you can claim from your private health fund on the spot, and we accept cash and EFTPOS. GP Care Plan (CDM) appointments are bulk billed. Dry needling and shockwave are included in your consultation, with no extra charge.
